About Chiropractic

Chiropractic care mainly focuses on adjusting your body, especially your spine and pelvis. When you sit too long or in the wrong position, it can strain your spine. This strain might cause pain because it affects how your spine’s nerve endings work. A chiropractor’s job is to help make stiff parts of your spine move better, which can reduce pain. Nowadays, chiropractors understand more about how your spine controls movement.

When you visit a chiropractor, they use their hands or specific instruments to manipulate and adjust your spine. The primary objective is to help you move with less discomfort and more ease. Additionally, they may provide guidance on staying active and recommend exercises that can aid in a quicker recovery.

Why Choose Us?

During your initial visit to our chiropractic clinic, your chiropractor will spend approximately 45 minutes with you. They will examine you thoroughly to determine the cause of your problem, whether it’s related to your muscles, discs, or joints. These tests will also help determine whether chiropractic care can benefit you and how long the repair process may take.

In line with current trends in healthcare, routine X-ray analysis is becoming less common. Imaging is only required in a few cases, such as suspected degenerated hip, osteoporotic compression fracture, or progressive idiopathic scoliosis. If you need an x-ray, we will refer you to an x-ray centre where you will be bulk billed for the procedure.

Once we have established that your condition will likely benefit from chiropractic care, and you agree to start, your practitioner will usually begin treatment on your first visit.

We understand that every client is unique and offer various treatment approaches to meet your needs. Some patients prefer gentle techniques, while others prefer a firmer manual approach. Some prefer instrument adjustments or blocks. If you’ve had chiropractic care before, please let us know your preference.

During your first visit, your chiropractor will explain the procedure beforehand so you can feel well-informed and well-cared-for. With years of experience and ongoing training, our chiropractors have a diverse range of techniques at their disposal, including Activator, Arthrostim, Impulse adjusting, Gonstead, Drop Piece, Diversified, SOT, Low-Level Laser (LLLT), and Active Release Technique.

All of our chiropractors have been seeing clients for a combined total of over 50 years. Our office staff have been with us for over 15 years. They are experienced in looking after patients’ children while the parents receive care.

Our clinic is committed to staying up-to-date with the latest research and techniques to ensure that our clients receive the best possible care that meets their unique needs. Peter Farrelly has completed the prestigious “Diplomate of the International Academy of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine” with distinction, while Sophia has pursued post-doctoral studies in Chiropractic Neuro-Rehabilitation. Our practitioners exceed the Continuing Professional Development requirements of the Chiropractic Board of Australia.

We welcome the opportunity to collaborate closely with your other healthcare practitioners. We receive many referrals from many local medical doctors.

If we determine that you would be better suited to another healthcare modality, we will refer you accordingly.

We participate in the GP Management Plan as part of the Medicare scheme. Under this plan, you may receive up to five annual Medicare-assisted visits. We will always write a report to your doctor detailing our findings and treatment.
